The Night of the Ancient Fires
The Night of the Ancient Fires is an annual happening in the archipelago, held on the last Saturday in August. The bonfires were used to guide the seafarers safely ashore. Now the fires are lit along the coastline to remember the old tradition.
To celebrate the day, we are keeping our doors open to the Viking village with free entrance from 5.00 pm to midnight on 31 August 2024. In addition to the museum and exhibitions, our café is also open all evening. Rosala’s own bonfire is lit at 9.30 pm at the bay, gathering villagers and holiday residents to the village harbour.
