The Viking Centre - A Path to Iron Age Finland

A thousand years ago, Finland lived its Iron Age, the mythical Viking Age. You can experience an amazingly authentic time trip to this period in the Viking Village in Rosala, a visitor’s centre that materialises times past.

The Viking Museum consists of not only informative exhibitions, but also an entire reconstructed Viking village, where you can invision yourself in the Viking Age. Play varpa, try on a Viking warriors outfit or relax in our café - the Viking Centre has something for all!

Entrance fee to the Viking Centre is 8,00 euros / adult and 4,00 euros / 4-14 years old child. Free admission for children under 4 years.

The entrance fee includes a guide map of the Viking village. The map is also your ticket to the area and valid the whole day, see our opening hours. We also recommend the short video presentation introducing the mythology of the Vikings. You can also try different games and activities in the Viking village.

Free entry

In the season 2024, the Viking village has one free entry day: the Night of the Ancient Fires on Sat 31 August at 17.00-24.00.

There is no entrance fee to the Viking Centre's cafe and museum shop.

Getting to Rosala

The Viking Centre is located on the beautiful island of Rosala, in the municipality of Kimitoön.

You can get to the island all year round by a free ferry from Kasnäs. The ferry ride from Kasnäs to Långnäs takes about 30 minutes. It is about 5 km from the island’s ferry pier Långnäs to the Viking Centre, and the route is great for cycling. Of course you can also arrive on foot or by car, and there are also two taxis on the islands.
